This thesis deals with the relevance of temporary workers in the parquet industry. The first part gives an overview of all the relevant definitions that are related to temporary employment and the general qualification of temporary work in different types of businesses. The second part is about the different areas of operations and the reasons why there is such a thing as temporary work. There will also be a theoretical comparison with standard employment. At the end of part two the cost of temporary workers is compared to the cost of regular staff. The third part is a case study about the parquet industry. An Austrian parquet producing company is the focal point of this part. The information of two Interviews and the theoretical input from the beginning of the thesis will be compared. The results should answer the following research question: „Under which conditions does the use of temporary employment make sense in the parquet industry?“ In a nutshell, the requirements for and against temporary work in the parquet industry are discussed.
