This Master Thesis describes the development of change management since 1996. For this purpose the author firstly pictures out the history of change man-agement and organizational change of the last century and then presents estab-lished change management models which are challenged against new developed change management models. Also this thesis shows similarities in the develop-ment of change management models between US and European developments. It will be shown that there is something new in change management regarding to the change that occurs constantly in the world. New technologies, globalization and perspectives on organizations lead to new topics in change management and organizational development, like complexity theory, Theory U and change man-agement 2.0. Studies show that in the future change management will be more important than in the past and present.
